Step 1. Warming-up
1. Greeting.
Tell the students, try to be an English King.
Step 2. Pre-reading.

T: Do you like playing games?
S: Yes.
T: Let’s play a game: Magic ears.
Listen to the song and try to catch: What do they touch?
Ss enjoy a song: Touch your eyes
After the song, try to answer: eyes, ears, mouth, nose.
Show the words and read the words.

2. Show the title: Unit 8 Dolls.
T: Now let’s play a game: Magic eyes. Look, what can you see?
Ss: Eyes, ears, mouth, nose.
T: You can see eyes, ears, a mouth, a nose.
Now what can you see? ---- a doll.
S: A doll.
T: Look at the doll, is she beautiful?
S: Yes.
T: How about this doll?
S: Cool….
T: Let’s enjoy the dolls.
When flash the dolls, Ss can say: How beautiful! She’s nice. He’s cool!...
T: Today we’re going to learn Unit 8 Dolls.
Read the title. Unit 8 Dolls
While playing the game, teach the words: eyes, ears, mouth, nose, hair.
T: Look, my hair is long. 请女生回答:What about you?
预设回答: My hair is long. 请多名女生说:My hair is long.
Teach: long.
请男生回答: Is your hair long?
预设回答:No.
T: Your hair is short.
Teach: short.
请多名男生说: My hair is short.
Tip: opposites.
Learn some opposites: big-small, fat- thin, tall- short.
Say sth about ourselves,先老师示范,出示is,are的使用tip,然后学生示范,最后小组活动。

5. Choose a doll, try to describe it.

2. Draw and say

Ss draw a doll and finish the passage about the doll.
Describe it in groups.
Homework:

Make your doll beautiful and write a passage about your doll.
