【正文】Abstract: Historical nihilism should be paid attention to since it is now being accepted by some people in modern China. As a special group, Chinese youth should be aware of the harm of historical nihilism. This paper focuses upon the content, background, characteristics of historical nihilism, including its influences on Chinese youth and the solutions .Facing historical nihilism, we should stick to the socialist core value system and socialism with Chinese characteristics.

　　Historical nihilism thrived in 1980s.In democratic revolution period, Mao Zedong pointed out that China is built on its history and we are the Marxist part in history. And the history should not be cut off. We should summarize it from Confucius to Sun Yat-sen and inherit this valuable legacy. For Chinese youth, they have active thoughts without the formation of world view, values and outlook on life. An ethos is the set of ideas and attitudes that is associated with a particular group of people, reflecting their interests and demands.Historical nihilism is a belief which rejects historical regularity and the mainstream in favor of the individual phenomenon while neglecting the essence, which explains history at will or distorts it deliberately, with historical idealism as its foundation. Through the analysis of periodical mistakes of China, it intends to blot out the revolutions and our struggle for national independence, which is an antisocial ethos violating history and historical materialism.
　　Firstly, under the international circumstances, historical nihilism appears with the low tide of the world socialist movement, acting in accordance with the peaceful evolution.In 1985, the general secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Gorbachev, came to power and put forward the new thoughts of revolution, leading to the historical nihilism which denied the socialist history of the Soviet Union. Afterwards, the ethos spread to China.
　　Secondly, from the point of view of domestic situation, historical nihilism is a wrong argument in ideological and cultural fields, which is incompatible to the main theme of Marxism, during the new era of reform and opening up and modernization process. Liang Zhu said: “It reflects the reversal development requirements in the new era of reform and opening up and modernization." Marxism is our main guiding principle and the main theme, reflecting the country’s mainstream ideology. However, ideas of    non-public also began to appear. 
　　Characteristics of Historical nihilism and its impact on Chinese youth
　　In recent years, historical nihilism is flicker, hindering China's development and progress, this trend has generated its own characteristics.The most prominent feature of the historical nihilism is regarding idealism as the main theoretical foundation, with the name of "rewriting history" and "re-evaluation" on the cover, trying to depreciate and negate revolution, discredit and deny the great achievements of China's socialist.  Ideological and political education has been the main channel and the major positions of ideological education. Nowadays, with the overall development of economy, politics and cultural, more attention should be paid to the ideological and political education. We should firmly establish the position of consciousness and ensure that the Marxist ideology is dominant in Chinese youth. 
　　Socialist core value systems leading the construction of ideological security.The 18th national congress stressed that: "firmly grasp the ideological work of the leadership and initiative, give correct guidance to improve the ability to guide, strengthen ideological mainstream of public opinion." We should be guided by scientific Marxist historical materialism theory and emphasized the importance of the mainstream ideology. Otherwise, we will be confused by fragmentary historical nihilism chaotic thinking. 
　　Strengthening ideological and political education building on the network, creating a healthy network environment.Modern media is developing rapidly, especially the Internet. So we should build a safe and healthy advocacy network to promote ideological and political education network, establishing and publicizing the theme, establishing online new positions of Marxist ideology education, effectively boycotting historical nihilism and other erroneous ideas.
